Creating a writing community is key to our success and on our final day of Write On Winter School every class used collaboration in some way.
Among other wonderful work, our senior class got their words off the page telling bad stories that ended up being really good!
Meanwhile, our intermediate class created characters who interacted in exciting action scenes.
The junior class worked collaboratively to create stories and poems. These fold-out mix-and-match poetry books needed three people to make them work.
A huge thanks to all of the young writers who shared their joy of words over the week, and to our wonderful group of tutors who guided them: Desna, Gail, Heather, Josiah, Karen, Meredith, Paddy and Philomena
A few testimonials from parents:
"This was a well-organised day with inspiring tutors and engaging focus. Our daughter created some fantastic outcomes and has been working on techniques she developed at the workshop all this week. Thank you to all the Write On team for another excellent learning opportunity."
"I'm honestly so thrilled to see this response from X. It’s the first time in a long time that he has actually wanted to do something. Thank you so much for creating a safe space for these kids!"
